This page explains how to upload documents to your application in the PGicover app. It covers accepted file formats, size limits, and what happens after a file is uploaded.
When do I need to upload documents?
Documents are attached to an application. You will be prompted to upload during the application process. You can also add or replace documents at any point while your application is in an editable state.
Accepted file types
PGicover accepts the following file formats:
- JPEG and PNG images
- HEIC (iPhone photo format)
- Word documents (.doc and .docx)
- Excel spreadsheets (.xls and .xlsx)
- CSV files
- Markdown files (.md)
If your document is in a different format, convert it to PDF before uploading. Most word processors and scanners offer a Save as PDF option.
File size limit
Each file must be 10 MB or smaller. If your file exceeds that size, try the following:
- Use a lower-resolution scan or photo setting.
- Print to PDF from your original application, which typically produces a smaller file than scanning a printout.
- If you are uploading a spreadsheet, remove any embedded images or charts that are not needed for review.
How to upload a file
From the app on your phone
- Open your application.
- Go to the documents section.
- Select the upload option.
- Choose a file from your device, or use the camera option to photograph a document directly.
If you use the camera option, the app will capture the image and upload it as a JPEG. Make sure the document is flat, well-lit, and fully in frame.
From a browser on desktop
- Open your application.
- Navigate to the documents section.
- Select the file from your computer and upload it.
Document types
When you upload a file, you can assign it a document type. The available types include:
- Loan Agreement
- Personal Guarantee Agreement or Personal Guarantee Document
- SBA Form 1919, 413, or 912 (US applications)
- Profit and Loss Statement
- Balance Sheet
- Accounts Receivable Aging Summary
- Accounts Payable Aging Summary
- Bank Statement
- Tax Return
- Business Plan
- Founder CV
- Financial Forecast
- Certificate of Insurance
- Other
Choosing the correct type helps the underwriting team locate what they need. If you are unsure, select Other.
What happens after upload
Once a file is uploaded, the app processes it in the background. For certain document types, the system attempts to extract key information to help pre-fill parts of your application. You do not need to wait for this to finish before moving on.
Replacing or removing a document
If you uploaded the wrong file, you can upload a replacement. The previous version remains on record but will be treated as archived. Contact us if you need a specific file removed from your application.
If an upload fails
- Check your internet connection and try again.
- Confirm the file is under 10 MB.
- Confirm the file format is on the accepted list above.
- If the file passes all those checks and still fails, contact us with the filename and the error message you see.
